Our friends over at Logos Bible Software recently released Proclaim, a church presentation software, that can help simplify Sunday morning. Now pastors, worship leaders, and production staff can build the entire service presentation online throughout the week.

While I would agree that every song on the album is great and worth buying, there were three that stood out to me as being over and above; “Attention”, “Jealous God”, and “Good Life.” The song attention is a great song about learning to listen to God. The key line in the song is, “Speak, You have our attention.” I love the track because it reminds me that we ought to spend more time listening to God then we do talking to him, and that by listening to him, he will guide our steps.

I first heard “Jealous God” when I saw the Know Hope collective in 2009. I was instantly moved by the Love of God. The piano driven song speaks directly of the passionate pursuit of a loving God. From the very first lyrics, you can experience that active pursuit. The song begins by saying, “Now I know that You would stop at nothing, To pull me close and steal my heart away.” From first hearing it live, it made the jump to one of my favourite songs, and I am glad a recording is finally available.

While both of the previous songs are excellent in both a personal and community setting, the other song I found to be a stand out track, “Good Life” is more of a personal song. In fact it is almost the opposite them to “Jealous God” This is the song of a broken man who has realized that he is nothing on his own, that his hopes and dreams aren’t worth anything, but that experiencing the father’s embrace is worth everything and more. It is a reworked version of a song from the Audio A album “Underdog”

Overall, I was very pleased with this album. It is going to be one I will personally be listening to for a while. Most of the songs on this album are great for a worship community to do together in Sunday morning worship.
